This site is non-profit and non-commercial, prepared purely for the viewing pleasure of anybody interested in the 1890 to 1920 era Ottoman Empire, Byzantine, ANZACs at Gallipoli (Canakkale) and First World War postcards as well as, to a lesser degree some other historic materials such as maps, illustrations and books with a focus on Constantinople which was officially renamed as today’s Istanbul after 1920’s .

The collection consists of authentic postcards, mostly used, from 1890’s to 1923 period. You can find historical photographs from Constantinople (İstanbul), Gallipoli / ANZAC / Dardanelles (Canakkale), Smyrna (İzmir), and Samsoun (Samsun) and even a few from Marrakesh and from Port Said which had been part of the Ottoman Empire during the early times.

All displayed items are part of the private collection held by the owner of the site. None of the materials in the collection are for sale. They may be used for non-commercial purposes with explicit reference to this site.
